Fair Housing Act protection in New Mexico
The federal Fair Housing Act (42 U.S.C. § 3604) applies to landlords in all 50 states, including New Mexico. Once you present a valid ESA letter, your landlord is required to make a reasonable accommodation for your emotional support animal. That means landlords across New Mexico cannot:
